November 5th conjures up memories of crisp November evenings with clear skies full of colour, bonfire smoke, bangs, pops and whizzes!
Even though the sights, sounds and smells might be great for us nostalgic adults, for the little ones in your life, it can sometimes feel a little daunting. If you remember, remember these three simple ways to enjoy fireworks night safely with young children, you can create great early childhood memories together as a family.
Close all external doors and windows and put on your child’s favourite songs in the background to muffle the sounds of loud bangs. Choose a window with a good view and snuggle up together under a blanket to watch the explosion of colour in the skies. Encourage them to copy the sounds of the fireworks or spot the colours they can see. For an extra special treat, try making these campfire cupcakes ahead of time to enjoy the taste of toasted marshmallows without the fire hazard!
Sparklers are extremely pretty but as they can reach temperatures of 1000 degrees centigrade, we think it’s best to leave this bonfire night tradition to older children and adults. We love this quick and easy DIY sparkler from Kids Craft Room that will allow little ones to enjoy the magic of sparklers without the heat.
If you are attending an organised fireworks display with young children, it goes without saying to make sure they’re wrapped up warm, have some ear mufflers to defend against the noise, and stay a safe distance back from the fire to prevent smoke and any stray embers causing harm. Bringing a favourite toy that keeps them calm in new situations can also help too.
You can find a reminder of the firework’s code and firework safety on the Royal Society for the prevention of accident’s website and whether you’re attending an organised display, holding your own private event with friends and family, or staying indoors, we hope you enjoy bonfire night safely this year.

Dear Jinglers Everywhere,
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation and guidelines provided by the Government and Public Health England* ( & all other relevant Regional Public Health agencies) our customers and class teacher safety and well-being is absolutely paramount.
Sadly, in view of the most recent news and recommendations Jo Jingles classes are now TEMPORARILY CLOSED in ALL areas.
However, you can still enjoy Jo Jingles @ Home – many of our Jingle areas are now offering fun online music sessions so contact your local Jo Jingles representative for further details either via Facebook or https://www.jojingles.com/find-class
If there’s not one available in your area at this time do take a look online to see where you can join another online session in our Network https://www.jojingles.com/find-class.
During this very difficult time we want to support families at home and provide some musical fun and entertainment for children.
If you would like to also stock up on musical goodies to accompany the sessions visit Jo’s Shop at https://www.jojingles.com/shop – it’s business as usual, at this time, for all online orders received.
This situation is evolving rapidly, and we will keep you updated if things change but in the meantime we are continuing to follow all necessary health and safety guidelines.
We’ll also shortly be announcing some NEW and exciting Jingle products too!
We will really miss all of our lovely ‘jinglers’ but hope to see you & all your friends again very soon,
A huge THANK YOU for your ongoing support.
Keep safe and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.
Best wishes
